THE POWER OF WORSHIP

G.R.A.C.E.

GOD'S REDEMPTION AT CHRISTS' EXPENSE

Forgiveness is the divine miracle of GRACE. The cost to God was the Cross of Christ. To forgive sin, while remaining a holy God, this price had to be paid.

Once you realize all that it cost God to forgive you, you will be held as in a vise, constrained by the love of God.

Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

When Jesus came to John to be baptized, John recognized Him - John 1:29 - "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." Thereby identifying Him and God's plan for Him to be sacrificed for sin.

The reference to Jesus as the Lamb of God points back to the institution of the Jewish "PASS OVER" in Exodus 12. The Israelites were commanded by God to sacrifice an unblemished lamb and smear the blood on the doorposts of their homes. The blood would be the sign for the Angel of Death to "PASS OVER" that house leaving those inside safely protected by the blood.

You may ask the question, "what is SIN?"

SIN is coming short of God's righteousness. God is righteous and holy. He cannot look upon sin.

Scripture says - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;..." - Romans 3:23

Romans 3:10 - "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."

Not one of us can keep the Ten Commandments. We are not to worship idols. We are to honor our parents. We are not to steal or cheat. We are not to commit adultery, lie, and commit fraud or many of the other things we read about in the newspaper today.

A diamond may be perfect to the natural eye. But if you take it to a specialist and he looks at it through a special glass, he sees a defect in it. God looks at us that way.

We think we are good, moral people. We go to church and pray. But God looks at us through His own righteousness, and He sees in all of us the defects - our SIN!

The penalty for sin is death and only an unblemished Lamb can pay that price. The only one good enough to pay that penalty is Jesus Christ the Lord.

God the Father sent his only begotten Son into the world to take on human flesh and to be the Saviour of His people. As the sinless Son of God, He could provide the unblemished sacrifice that God requires. God's justice demanded judgment and punishment for sin; God's love moved Him to send His only begotten Son to be the propitiation for sin.

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

A Story of Love and Choice

Not only does the cross show us that a penalty must be paid for our sins, it also shows us the love of God.

Romans 5:8 - "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Peter 3:18 - "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"

1 John 1:7 - "...and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

What Will You Do With Jesus?

Matthew 27:38-40 - "Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross."

But suddenly, one of the thieves repented. We read of this in Luke 23:39-42 - "And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom."

Luke 23:43 - "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."

Jesus said TODAY! Not tomorrow or next week or next month, but TODAY!

I see the Lamb of God crucified on the middle cross dying between two thieves for the sins of the world because God loves us all so much.

One rejects Him and goes to Hell!

The other accepts Him and goes to paradise with Jesus that very day.

Jesus can do the same for you, whoever you are. It is never too late to accept Jesus as your Saviour. The thief on the cross was saved just moments before he died. So don't think it is too late for you or that Jesus can't save you.

Luke 19:10 - "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

It is never too late until you draw your last breath, then it is too late!

Hebrews 9:27 - "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

Do you feel your life has been a failure? Is your life turned upside down? Do you wonder which way to turn?

The choice you make NOW will affect the rest of your life. It will affect where you spend eternity. Let me ask you a question. Where will you be one hundred years from now? You know it won't be here, so where will it be? Heaven or Hell? The choice is yours! WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH JESUS? ACCEPT HIM OR REJECT HIM?

What Will You Do With Jesus?

Belief in Christ's death on the cross for your sins ensures you an eternal life in heaven. But not accepting God's gift of salvation - assures you of an eternal home in hell.

Matthew 13:42 makes it very clear - "And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Prepare Now for Your Eternity!

If you died tonight ~where would you spend eternity? Heaven or Hell? Only you can choose.

If you choose God and Heaven ~ you can pray this prayer and ask Jesus to save you.

"Lord Jesus, I confess I am a sinner and need a Saviour. I ask forgiveness of my sin and ask You to be my personal Saviour. I am trusting in you and You alone for my salvation. I believe You suffered and died on the cross to pay the FULL price for MY sin and I believe you rose again from the grave and now stand at the right hand of God the Father. Thank you Jesus for saving me and giving me eternal life in heaven with you. "

If from a sincere heart you have prayed to receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour, it is now very important that you fellowship with a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church that can teach you and help you to grow in your new life in Christ.
